ADALBERTO “BETO” ANZALDUA

EDINBURG – Adalberto “Beto” Anzaldua, 84, died Saturday, November 19, 2016, at McAllen Heart Hospital.

Born in Mission, Beto had lived in Edinburg all his life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps., serving during the Korean War, and a member of American Legion Post 408 of Edinburg. Mr. Anzaldua was employed as a stadium usher for Edinburg CISD for 26 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Geronima Anzaldua; a sister, Esperanza Loredo; and an infant brother, Alejandro Anzaldua.

Mr. Anzaldua is survived by his wife of 61 years, Celia L. Anzaldua; three children, Omar (Dalinda) Anzaldua, Ronaldo (Maggie) Anzaldua, Rosie (Benny Jr.) Rodriguez, all of Edinburg; seven grandchildren, Monica, Omarsito, Andrea and Yvonne Anzaldua, Deandra, Benjamin and Abraham Rodriguez; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Guadalupe Anzaldua; and two sisters, Enriqueta Gonzalez, Raquel Heriford, all of Edinburg.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, November 20, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Military honors will be conducted by Sgt. Benito Alaniz VFW Post 7473 of Elsa.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
