Alamo – Aurelio R. Pina, 88, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at South Texas Health System Heart Hospital in McAllen.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Luisa Pina; son, Aurelio Pina Jr.; grandson, Gabriel Pina; parents, Jose and Julia Pina Jr.; and four siblings, Irene Pina Lozano, Alicia Pina Escobedo, Mariano Pina, and Jose Pina III.
Aurelio is survived by his daughters, Zulema Espinoza and Guadalupe (Jaime) Palacios; four grandchildren, Alejandro Espinoza, Jeana Pina, Julia Ann Palacios, and Justin Pina; and ten great grandchildren, Alejandro Espinoza Jr., DeAngelo Gallegos,J.J., Jacob, Jason, Jaoquin Elisondo, Evan Pina, Jade Nieto, Osiel and Sofia Pina.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, August 31, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, in San Juan. Funeral Service with take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 1,2026 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
