Armando "Mando" Martinez Cid

EDINBURG – Armando “Mando” Martinez Cid, 66, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at his residence in Edinburg.

Armando was truly at his happiest when he was outdoors or surrounded by the people he loved. Whether he was waiting for a bite on his fishing line, out on a hunt, or sharing a laugh over a game of pool, he brought a steady and warm presence to everything he did. Above all, his greatest joy was simply being with his family, and the time they spent together remains his most meaningful legacy.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Federico and Maria Cid; and four siblings, Federico Cid, Maria M. Cid, Josefina Cid and Raul Cid.

Armando is survived by his wife, Arlene Cid; five children, Amanda (Evaristo) Cid-Galvan, Armando (Monica) Cid, Angel Marie (Juan) Cid, Ernie Escareño, Erick Escareño; nine grandchildren, Yazmine Galvan, Evaristo Galvan, Izai Galvan, Dominic J. Cid, Odin Dionicio Soto, Darien Escareño, Ethanieal James Escareño, Avery Marie Escareño, Viviana Escareño; and seven siblings, Concepcion (Mario) Arellano, Alicia Escudero, Lourdes (Mario) Villarreal, Catalina Pina, Luis (Cammy) Cid, Mary (Daniel) De Leon Cid and Leticia (Juan) Pequeno.

Visitation will begin at 5 PM, with a rosary at 6 PM, on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, located at 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. The funeral service will take place at 10 AM on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Cremation will follow at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
