Apolinar "Polo" Banda, 78, entered eternal rest Monday, February 23, 2026, at South Texas Health System Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Delfina Blanco Banda; his parents, Donaciano Banda and Maria Guevara; and four siblings, Donaciano, Graciela, Apolinar, and Francisco Javier Banda Guevara.
Polo is survived by two children, Jesus D. and Delfina Banda; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and 11 siblings, Lupano Guadalupe, Alvaro, Marcela, Berta Estela, Soledad, Victor, Yolanda, Gilberto, Oscar Joel, Jose de Jesus, and Eliut Misael Banda Guevara.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
