SAN JUAN- Antonia “Toña” Garcia, 84, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at South Texas Health System McAllen.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Abelino Garcia; a daughter Berta “Betty” Rubio; parents; Ernesto and Rafaela Vega; and three siblings.

Antonia is survived by her five children, Apolonio (Melissa) Garcia, Melinda (Adolfo) Huerta, Ida (Samuel) Mares, Diana (Louie) De Luna, and Abel Garcia; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and seven siblings.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, July 21, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at RGV State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
