ANSELMO “CHEMO” ZUNIGA
PHARR – Anselmo “Chemo” Zuniga, 83, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at his residence in Pharr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Feliciano and Valvina Zuniga; and six siblings.
Anselmo is survived by his wife, Mercedes “Meche” Zuniga; two sons, Pedro (Susie Ann) Zuniga and Alexis (Maria Isela) Zuniga; five grandchildren, Kevin (Valeria), Brianna (Cody), Nathaniel, Zachary and Jude Zuniga; two great-grandchildren, Gia and Keenan Zuniga; and four sisters.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
