ANGELITA OBREGON LONGORIA

EDINBURG – Angelita Obregon Longoria, 87, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at The Bridges in Edinburg.

Throughout her life, Mom was known for her compassion, generosity, and her unwavering love for her family. As the oldest of eight siblings, she always tried to honor her parents by watching over them and helping them when she could. She graduated from Edinburg HS in 1954 where she was a Sergeanette Drummer and where she and Dad met; the start of what would eventually become the love of her life and the family we are today. She believed in the power of education and graduated from Pan American. She began her professional career with the City of Edinburg and retired from Texas Tropical MHMR. Throughout her career, she was active in community endeavors serving on the City of Edinburg’s planning and zoning committee, The City of Edinburg’s Hospital Board, and a volunteer at the local hospital.

She was a proud mother and grandmother and a woman of faith. She loved celebrating the accomplishments of others and always wanted to know if “they were happy.” In the spirit of the holidays, we all looked forward to spending time and enjoying her favorite dishes. Mom will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Miguel “Mickey” Longoria; two siblings, Rosie Longoria and Francisco Obregon.

Mrs. Longoria is survived by her three children, Arnold Longoria, Ricky (Michelle) Longoria, Nora Landavazo; eight grandchildren, Nathan Mark (Arlene) Longoria, Dr. Katarina (Lydia) Longoria-Gray, Kristina Longoria, Richard (Gabrielle) Longoria, Ryan Longoria, Brianna Landavazo, Brittany Landavazo, Michael Landavazo; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Longoria, Natalie Longoria, Austin Longoria-Gray, Eric Longoria-Gray; five siblings, Beatrice Obregon, Lupe (Noe) Balli, Elva (Charlie) McLemore, Jose Obregon, and Sylvia (Hector) Mendez.
