Angelita "Angie" Garcia

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Angelita "Angie" García, 91, of Pharr, TX, entered fully into the presence of our Lord on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
Angie was a dedicated wife and mother who joyfully served the Lord by serving others. She enjoyed the travel and adventure of being an Air Force wife and was the source of stability for her family while her husband served in the Vietnam War. Angie lived for her children and enthusiastically supported their interests. She served as both troop leader and den mother for all three, attended every sporting event, and was always their biggest fan. As a strong supporter of higher education, she took great pride in the fact that all her children earned college degrees. Angie was also a devout Catholic who shared her faith with countless children as a CCD teacher at St. Jude's Catholic Church for over 20 years.
Angie is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Felipe "Chacho" García, and her parents, Tiburcio and Severita García.
She is survived by her daughter Delia (Steve) Helms; sons Alberto (Theresa) García and Roberto "Bob" (Amy) García; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Bryan) McGinley, Gabriel and Anysia García, Alexandria (Robert) Colunga, and Audrey and Lauren Aldrete; and her great-grandchildren, Vincent and Lyla McGinley, and Anthony, Adelyn, Ainsley, and Anastassia Colunga.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. Rosary on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home, 311 E Expressway 83, in San Juan. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2023, at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 505 S. Ironside St., in Pharr, with The Rite of Christian Burial to follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens, 4607 N. Sugar Rd, in Pharr.
