Ambrosio Rico was born on December 7, 1938, in Rio Rico, Tamaulipas. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Rico, four children Jesus Manuel(Zulema), Maria Christina(Facundo), Patricia, and Ambrosio Rico Jr. He had 10 grandchildren, Janeth, Jesus Jr, Jessica(Angel), Juan, Oscar Jr(Stephanie), Cathy, Eveyln, Amber, Nicole, Alejandra. He had 8 great-grandchildren, David, Christopher, Sofia, Fabiola, Maximiliano, Elijah, Alexia, Alexis. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alejandra Ornelas, his mother, Felipa Gaytan, his siblings, Martin, Isabel, Agustina and two other sisters.
He immigrated to the United States at a very young age and was a migrant worker for over ten years. He met his wife Juanita in San Jose, California. Then they decided to settle in Pharr, Texas where they would go on to raise their family for 15 years before moving to Alamo, Texas where they lived for 36 years.
He loved to sit at Whataburger to enjoy an early cup of coffee while chit chatting with friends, employees, Winter Texans, or anyone who would walk in. He enjoyed watching wrestling, driving around, swimming, reading world maps and biking. He also enjoyed doing things for his grandkids such as picking them up from school and taking them to buy food.
He will be greatly missed by his entire family.
