ALDO RENE SALAZAR
MCALLEN – The family of Aldo Rene Salazar, 74, is saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, August 23, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished memories, and a family who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 29 years, Vanita Salazar; parents, Salome and Alicia Salazar; two siblings and best friends, Jaime Salazar and Jerry Salazar.
Mr. Salazar will lovingly be remembered by his daughter, Crystal (Marc Feder) Salazar; two siblings, Cynthia (George) Monsevalles, Melissa (Dr. John) Salazar-Gouin; sisters-in-law, Martha (+Jaime) Salazar, Kathy (+Jerry) Salazar; nieces and nephews, Jaime (Lori) Salazar, Gerardo “Jerry” (Kelly) Salazar, Anissa (Mark) de la Garza, Kathryn (John David) Franz, Salome “Sal” Salazar; cousins Dr. Ricardo and Lucy Canales, Karalyssa (Julian) Casillas, Giliana Canales, numerous cherished grand nieces and nephews; and his longtime friend, Mary Sekula.
Aldo deeply treasured his time spent together with family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and experiencing the beauty of America through road trips. He will forever be in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Memorial mass will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
