OFELIA ALANIZ GARCIA
MISSION – Ofelia Alaniz Garcia, 72, died Friday, November 30, 2018, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Ofelia was a caring person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as if they were her own. Ofelia had a passion for dancing and loved listening to “conjunto” music. Mrs. Garcia will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ofelia M. and Jesus Alaniz; two sisters, Nora Thelma Botello and Diana Alaniz.
Ofelia is survived by her loving husband, Juan Salinas; a son, Emilio (Josie) Garcia Jr., both of Mission; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jesus (Maria) Alaniz Jr. of Mission; and a sister, Maria Alicia (Oscar) Jasso of Edinburg.
A memorial service will take place at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
