Felipe Advento Alaniz Mr.

FELIPE ADVENTO ALANIZ SAN JUAN – Felipe Advento Alaniz, 73, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in San Juan, Mr. Alaniz had lived there all of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish. He loved sports and was an avid fan of Texas teams. He enjoyed buying lotto tickets and was very lucky. He is preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Manuela Alaniz; two brothers, Adalberto and Ruben Alaniz; and a sister, Raquel Calderon. Mr. Alaniz is survived by his wife, Delia G. Alaniz; a daughter, Lisa Lennette Alaniz, both of San Juan; two brothers, Mario (Oralia) Alaniz, of San Juan, Juan (Dalila) Alaniz, of Edinburg; a sister, Nora (Ken) Kelly, of Chicago, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Janie Alaniz; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, July 1, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
