Agapita Ruiz

Edinburg – Agapita Ruiz, 87, passed away, October 1, 2026, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a devoted mother and dedicated housewife who spent her lifetime loving her family. Throughout her beautifully long life of 87 years, her family remained her greatest joy and ultimate pride. The deep love she shared will forever live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and everyone who knew her.

Agapita is survived by her children; Alfonso Ruiz, Amelia Campos, Maria Diaz, Maria Ambriz, Jose Alberto Ruiz,and Rosa Samaniego, 18 grandchildren;13 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren, and three siblings Mariano Santos, San Juana Perez and Antonia Santos.

She is preceded in death by her son; Luis A Ruiz, her parents; Santiago and Aucension Santos and five siblings; Hilario Santos, Lucia Santos, Aucension Santos, Eulogio Santos and Juan Santos.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral Service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
