ROMEO JAVIER FLORES

SAN MANUEL – Romeo Javier Flores, 72, went home to our Lord, Monday, June 3, 2019, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Flores was born in San Manuel, Texas and was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He married his loving wife, Tani in 1976 and together raised their two children, Romeo and Alissa. He proudly worked alongside with his brothers at Chorizo de San Manuel. He had two great passions in life, cooking outdoors with his family/friends and playing golf with his golfing buddies. Romeo enjoyed gambling and playing cards at the ranch or traveling to Vegas. For the past 20 years, he traveled along with his family to celebrate Labor Day in Vegas. Romeo will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis Flores Sr. and Teresa V. Flores; five siblings, Luis Flores Jr., Jesus Flores, Jorge Flores, Oscar Flores, and Sylvia Guerra.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and team of therapists at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.

Dear Family and Friends of Romeo Flores,
I am sorry for the loss of your loved one. Continue to cherish the memories.
I hope you are receiving much needed comfort during this time.
Losing a loved one in death raises so many questions, such as, "What has happened to my loved one who has passed." Will I ever see my loved one again?" and "Why does God allow pain and suffering?" Well rest assured God understands your feelings, and in his word the bible he gives us the much needed comfort we need to cope. At 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 we read, "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials."
Accepting comfort from the scriptures and the hope it provides, not only answers our most important questions, but it provides hope. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you' declares Jehovah, 'thoughts of peace and not of calamity to give you a future and a hope."
To learn more about this wonderful hope, please visit JW.org, or speak with any one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Sincerely,
Ms. Sims

My condolences to the Flores families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Romeo. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth and they will forever reside upon it". Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering.
